Enroll your child in Lone Star College-CyFair Discover Youth Camp. We provide programs that are fun and educational,
offering your children a chance to develop their skills, and learn new ones in a warm, friendly environment.
Knowledgeable instructors will teach classes in a variety of subject areas with
curriculum developed to encourage learning in a relaxed and
creative atmosphere.
We offer one week classes, June through mid-August every summer for children ages 6–15.
• Camps are for 6–8 and 9–12 year olds at both the Barker Cypress and LSC-Fairbanks Center locations.
• Camps are offered for 13–15 year olds at the Barker Cypress campus only.
• Full-day and half-day sessions
• Morning and afternoon sessions are available.
• Supervised lunchtime is available for those students registering for both morning and afternoon classes occurring in
the same week. The student must bring a sack lunch each day.

The Cypress Woods High School
Crimson Cadettes Drill Team is having their 3rd Annual Dance Camp Clinic from August 13 – 15 at Cy Woods High
School. (The Showoffs will be held August 15th at 11:30am .) Each session will include dance technique, specially
choreographed routines for each age group, performance dance t-shirt, drinks and snacks each day and a picture of
each participant! All age levels welcome! Grades K – 12!

AAR ’S 4th Annual Golf Tournament
Your birdie can help our puppies and kitties—Abandoned Animal Rescue’s 4th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser will
tee off on Monday, Sept 15 at High Meadow Ranch Golf Club in Magnolia (www.highmeadowranchgolf.com).
Registration for the four-man best ball scramble begins at 7:00 a.m. with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
There will be a $25k hole-in-one prize, door prizes, longest-drive prize, closest-to-the-pin prize, and plaques. The
tournament fees are $125 per individual player, which includes green fee, golf cart, drinks, and lunch following the
tournament.
Hole sponsorships are available for $500, $250 and $100.
All profits benefit AAR’s no-kill animal shelter, pet adoption center, and low-cost spay/neuter clinic managed and
maintained by an all-volunteer staff. Past tournaments have funded 20 indoor air-conditioned dog runs and 7 outdoor
exercise pens, and paid for 24 multi-level cat condos.

Adventures in Mothering at the MET!
Mothers of Preschoolers need a little encouragement… and a whole lot of fun! METMOPS is registering now for the fall
semester of MOPS. We are exploring “Adventures in Mothering.” Join us this fall (September–December) on Friday
mornings from 9:15–11:45am at the Metropolitan Baptist Church. METMOPS meetings include awesome speakers,
creative crafts, encouraging discussion time, food and door prizes. Childcare is provided with registration. For more

We have many young Girl Scouts in our great neighborhood! We need High School girls to assist with the young Daisy,
Brownie and Junior Girl Scout troops in the area! Interested in developing your organizational and leadership
skills? Want to help plan a trip to teach girls about the stars, music, government, or the like? Interested in potentially
working with children as a career? If you have a “spark” that you’d like to share with the young girls, this is your calling.
You’d assist in planning meetings, events and community service projects in Cy-Fair. We’re looking to build a team of
about 20 teens who will serve as role models to the young girls in our area. We will work around your schedule, as we
